The editorial workflow at Management of Sustainable Development (MSD) ensures a transparent, efficient, and high-quality peer-reviewed publication process. Each manuscript undergoes a rigorous evaluation process, structured in several stages:
1. Submission Received
- Authors submit manuscripts via the journal’s submission platform.
- Editorial staff check for formatting, completeness, and scope alignment.
2. Initial Screening
- The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the manuscript’s relevance, originality, and compliance with ethical and formatting standards.
- Submissions that do not meet basic requirements are desk rejected.
3. Assignment to Associate Editor
- If the manuscript passes screening, the Editor-in-Chief assigns it to an Associate Editor with subject-matter expertise.
- The Associate Editor selects qualified peer reviewers and manages the review process.
4. Peer Review
- At least two independent reviewers are invited.
- Reviewers must not share affiliations with the authors or have any conflict of interest.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript using a structured evaluation form, covering:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Originality and contribution
- Methodological soundness
- Validity of results and conclusions
- Clarity of writing and structure
Review reports are due within 21 days.
5. Editorial Recommendation
- The Associate Editor provides a recommendation based on peer reviews: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
6. Final Decision
- The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision, considering reviewers’ feedback and Associate Editor input.
- Authors are informed of the outcome along with reviewer comments.
7. Final Acceptance and Production
- Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.
- The final version is published online with a DOI.
